With traffic ever-increasing on the Tokyo streets, risks for Uber delivery bicyclists have also increased. To bring an innovative solution to traffic safety, we brought Uber Eats together with Eyes Japan, a Fukushima-based software company. The result was “Smart Spokes” which uses gyro-kinetic LEDs to display artfully designed animation on the spokes as they rotated, turning delivery bikes into media, while providing a smarter, safer and, no doubt, cooler ride.
